A new initiative that is focused on strengths, not symptoms, and where recovery really means something. A new positive support strategy that ditches stigma, simplifies the conversation, and encourages everyone to find ways to pitch in.
We believe that if we attack so-called "diseases of despair" as we would any other deadly epidemic, and support people as they make progress, we can manage the population's risk, and reduce overdose deaths, suicide, and violence. We think the ultimate cure for addiction , trauma, and mental health concerns is a positive, safe world, a world where depression, trauma, and pain are addressed, and where people are supported as they build successful lives. The community's job is to create and sustain that world, and build a path to safety. This path must be strong enough to respond to the specific risks within the population.
